Marcelle Hodges was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) aka “Cidade Maravilhosa” (Wonderful City). If you ever watched the animated movie Rio, that is Marcelle's hometown; the postcard of Brazil with the big Jesus Christ statue overlooking the beautiful and vibrant city. One interesting fact about Brazil is that it is the only Portuguese speaking country in South America. Another very important fact is that Brazilians are obsessed with “futebol” aka soccer. And futebol is Marcelle's number #1 passion! In her spare time, that is her favorite pastime! Growing up in a tourist city, Marcelle was always surrounded by people from different parts of the world which made her eager to learn other cultures and languages. As a teenager, she dreamed about living abroad and so she started studying English as a second language at a very young age. After graduating from High School, she went to college for International Relations and Law School with the intent of becoming a diplomat. In pursuit of her dream, Marcelle studied other languages and is currently fluent in three: Portuguese, English and Spanish. She also has aspirations of learning French and Italian. Marcelle moved to the States in 2005 after meeting her husband while he was on vacation in Rio. Since arriving in the U.S., Maryland is the only state she has resided in and it has always been her home away from home. Marcelle lived in Baltimore City's Fells Point until she and her husband bought their first home in Edgewood MD. They later moved to the Bel Air/Hickory area where they have been living since 2015 with their beautiful daughter Sophia – who happens to be an amazing soccer player! - and their pets: Roman, the dog and Nutter Butter, the cat. Before she began her career in Real Estate, Marcelle had the opportunity to work in several different industries. She worked as a personal assistant to an international entrepreneur; she worked for nearly a decade in the healthcare industry – both in the health insurance side as well as healthcare provider handling high dollar claims. Most recently she worked with several national and local builders as their design consultant. She also has experience with Interior Design and Staging, two of her passions – after futebol and shopping! Marcelle is dedicated, loyal, detail oriented, and a people pleaser. Her outgoing personality and love of people made the transition to real estate an easy one. After years of assisting home buyers select interior finishes for their new homes, she wanted to be able to HELP people FIND their dream home. Marcelle sets herself apart from other Realtors because she can see potential where others may not. |
